In the 1890s, Effie Hegermann Lindencrone and Fanny Garde created a new pattern – light and summery, with buttercups, tendrils and sometimes a butterfly. The butterfly that gave its name to the new pattern was a freehand design at first and therefore always different. In 1905, the complete service was revised with a standard butterfly.
