The porcelain manufactory Bing & Grondahl was founded in 1853 by Frederik Vilhelm Grøndahl and the Bing brothers in Vesterbrogade, just outside Copenhagen.
Bing & Grondahl is known for their tableware, Christmas plates as well as their naturalistic figurines made in typical underglaze painting. These figurines were designed by artists such as Jens Peter Dahl-Jensen, Axel Locher, Ingeborg Plockross-Irminger or Claire Weiss and are still popular today.
