Since 1908, Royal Copenhagen has been designing a decorative wall plate with a winter motif and the respective year in a limited edition every year.
Until 1944, the Christmas plates were offered in five different languages.
Danish with the text "Jul" or "Julen"
German with the text "Weihnachten"
English with the text "Christmas" (only until 1941)
French with the text "Noël"
Czech with the text "Vánoce" (only until 1943)
From 1945, was only offered in Danish language and from 1953, in its present form without text, only with the respective year. Many old Christmas plates are rare collector’s items today.
