The pattern “Empire” was designed by Harriet Bing in 1904. The design was inspired by the centenary of the coronation of Napoleon and the associated revival of the Empire style across Europe. "Empire" with its delicate blue flower garlands is still one of B&G’s most popular services and remained in production until 1987.
