Porcelain | Bing & Grondahl | Blue Fluted

This pattern is one of Bing & Grondahl’s classics, and in Denmark, it is simply called "Bla malet" (blue painting). The painting is applied freehand by porcelain painters, for whom this pattern is as familiar as their own handwriting. This results in small differences in the painting, as well as the typical nuances of the blue color. The inspiration for the pattern originally came from China and reached Europe via the Silk Road where it was embraced by the Royal Copenhagen porcelain manufactory, among others. Bing & Grondahl produced this service from 1899 until the end of independent production in 1987.
