Porcelain | Royal Copenhagen | Flora Danica

One of the most exclusive tableware in history dates back to 1790 and was designed and produced on order of the Danish Crown Prince by Royal Copenhagen. The copper engravings in the botanical encyclopedia "Flora Danica" by Georg Christian Oeder served as a model for the design. Originally, it was intended as a gift to the Russian Czarina Catherine II. Since she died before the entire service could be completed in 1802, it remained with the Danish Royal Family until today. In later years, due to great interest "Flora Danica" was added to the catalog and offered for sale. Even today, each item is handcrafted and a little work of art.
